I mean, I am no famous songwriter, but i have a small collection of songs that i had to throw away because somebody pointed to me they sounded very similar to songs I had never heard before.
If I had never heard bohemian rhapsody and by chance came across the same song while writing, somebody would point to me: look, this has been done before, only much better and, by the way, you cannot sing and your guitar playing sucks.
