Stream of graudation. This brand new pathway for September offers the opportunity to develop skills and technique in acting, dance and singing for musical theatre. Providing an in-depth introduction to the skills and knowledge needed to run a performance, this course is ideal for anyone interested in the technical side of the creative and performing arts.

LIPA Sixth Form College is a free school dedicated to training students aged at the outset of their careers in the performing and creative arts. That is true whether onstage, behind the scenes, in the studio or in the classroom. We are passionate about nurturing and empowering our students to perform to the best of their abilities, achieving this by replicating industry practice and professional opportunities within the courses we teach.

Some of our students have gone straight into work having landed recording contracts and agency representation. Though best known for performance-based courses like acting, dance, and music, LIPA offers training for everything that goes into making a performance happen, from design to management and recently, filmmaking. Another thing current LIPA students love about the institution is being in a creative environment surrounded by like-minded people.

A great benefit is location: the Liverpool city centre, which is a vibrant and diverse community that offers loads of opportunities both to take in some culture, and to find creative opportunities. You need to be dedicated and disciplined, and students keep industry hours, sometimes training and working at night or on the weekends.

Though the performing arts industries are competitive, LIPA fosters a supportive, non-competitive ethos amongst the students.

That said, you need to be able to work on your own initiative and try new things. You have to be ready to work hard at your discipline, and be receptive to learning more about your craft.
